As a Cash Application Associate, you will be responsible for accurately applying payments to customer accounts, analyzing payment histories, and reconciling accounts. Your role will involve resolving payment discrepancies, conducting research for unidentified customer accounts and over-payments, and collaborating with the credit/collection department. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

 

XPO Job Role Responsibility & Requirement

Responsibilities:

·         Verify payments and ensure accurate completion of paperwork, including check numbers and amounts paid.

·         Process and allocate cash received to appropriate clients and invoices on a daily basis.

·         Contact clients and collaborate with the collections team to minimize unidentified receipts.

·         Communicate with customers to determine proper payment application when necessary.

·         Maintain customer files and related information in the computer system.

·         Escalate unresolved issues or concerns to the appropriate teams.

·         Participate in special department projects or initiatives as directed.

·         Perform daily balancing of bank statements and ERP payment posting.

·         Research customer duplicates and erroneous payments.

·         Assist in month-end processes as needed.

·         Respond to queries from the Collections & Billing teams promptly.

·         Demonstrate adaptability in handling customer situations.

·         Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

·         Bachelor's degree (B.A) in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.

·         Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

·         Ability to perform complex analysis of data, processes, policies, procedures, and systems.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Windows applications.

·         Ability to prioritize workload, multitask, and meet established deadlines.

·         Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.

·         Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

·         Basic computer and technical skills.

·         Familiarity with accounting software such as Oracle, HRC, JIRA, etc.
